WEEKLY TRADER PICK RESULTS

As regular readers will know in addition to my main team each week I usually pick one further player that I am recommending as a bet purely to trade on the betting exchanges. 

This player is always priced at at least 200 at the time of recommendation on the exchanges.

The pick is not a player I particularly fancy to win the event or even place [although this has happened on several occassions!] but someone I simply feel will perform well enough for the first couple of rounds at least to trade significantly lower than the price I recommended to back them at.

My strategy on this player is always to look to initially lay them at 25% of the price I backed them at, for 3 x the stake I backed them at. If the player is matched on this basis it guarantees us a 200% profit.

For example if I place £20 on my selection at a price of 200 I stand to win £4000 if they win. If I then lay £60 on the player at a price of 50 I will have a guaranteed profit of £40 regardless as to who wins the event.

In addition, as the lay bet of £60 at 50 means I have laid the player to lose £3000, I still have an overall potential profit of £1000 [based on my initial bet to win £4000] if my player wins.

I can then decide whether to let this bet ride or trade further if the player gets right in the mix. For example if the player trades at a price of 6 I may choose to lay a further £100 at this price, giving me another £100 profit guaranteed, but still leaving a £500 profit on my selection if they win.

I was asked a few times last season if I keep tabs on the success or otherwise of my trader picks through the season, which of course I do, however due to the nature of the bet I do not include them in my weekly P&L running total.

I have therefore decided to set up this document for the 18/19 PGA Season, which I will update weekly with the performances of our trader. 

This document will be available in the Latest Tips section of the website as well as being included in a link in the Other Tips section in the weekly P&L update.

The document will show details of the player, the price I recommended to back them at & the lowest price they were matched at in the event. [This does not mean I laid them at the price, it is simply shows us how good a trader pick they were/weren't].

Green indicates they reached our target price to initially lay at to make the 200% profit, red means they didn't!
